Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 91?
The 2022 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has such a heavy matchstick reduction on the nose that it completely obliterates any sense of place or variety. It seems very fixed as I exchanged it from glass to glass. The palate has shrill acidity, again a ponderous reduction and a leaden finish. Just a stylised wine that, unlike the spellbinding Corton-Charlemagne and BÒtard-Montrachet, falls the wrong side of SO2, consequently rendering what is potentially a magnificent Les Perrières just a bit predictable and generic. Other cuvées in this same tasting showed much better. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
