The 2017 Durfort-Vivens was affected by frost on the western parcels, so the château lost 40% of the production. This has a far superior bouquet to the 2016, very pure with black cherries, red plum, mint and pine. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity and nicely structured with a touch of pepper and spicebox toward the finish. Despite the frost, this is showing well, elegant and persistent. Bon vin. Tasted at the château.
