Tasting Notes
Vinous 91-93
Vivid ruby-red. Intense, mineral-accented aromas of ripe red berries and lavender show spice and mineral topnotes. Sappy and seamless in texture, offering intense red fruit liqueur flavors complicated by sexy floral pastille and spicecake nuances and lifted by juicy acidity. Shows excellent clarity and thrust on the extremely long, perfumed finish, which is framed by silky, harmonious tannins.
Wine Advocate 90
The 2014 ChΓ’teauneuf du Pape is another classic wine that’s loaded with ProvenΓ§al charm and character. Old school in style, with lots of garrigue and leather, it has rocking levels of fruit (which you don’t find often in the vintage), medium-bodied richness, notable balance and fine, ripe tannin. Drink it anytime over the coming 5-6 years.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2022
