Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 89
Sweet red stone fruits and dried flowers open up in the 2011 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Boudots. More ferrous notes of smoke, iron and scorched earth follow as the fruit takes on darker shades of color. The 2011 is quite powerful and intense, but there is only modest fruit to fill out the wine’s broad-shouldered Nuits frame. I would drink the 2011 sooner rather than later.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021
Vinous 91+
Medium red. Brooding aromas of dark fruits, mint and menthol. Rich and deep on the palate, with spicy red fruit flavors lifted by a note of orange peel. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and juicy persistence.
