Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 89
The 2022 Corton Grand Cru, bottled at the end of November, offers bright, brambly red fruit, loam and light incense aromas on the nose, with maybe just a suggestion of tree bark. The palate is medium-bodied, with powdery tannins and dark berry fruit laced with white pepper and clove, although the finish doesn’t quite kick on as I was expecting. Perhaps, if given the choice, I might plump for the Beaune Cent Vignes. Tasted at merchants’ 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2038
