Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 92-94
The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru was one of the first vineyards picked on 25 September and was made with 70% whole clusters. It is quite stemmy on the nose to the point where it slightly occludes the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, rather complex but I hope that racking will provide more flesh and fruitΓ© on the finish to counterbalance the stems. I am more taken with the Clos de la Roche this year.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2042
