Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 92
The 2017 Giscours has a sense of airiness on the nose, well defined with rose petal, a touch of pencil shavings and more red fruit than the 2016. It unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It’s not quite as pixelated or as precise as the previous vintage, but it’s quite powerful for a 2017, with a very peppery, spicy finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle. This is a fine Giscours.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2050

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Giscours offers pretty plum preserves, warm cassis and wilted roses scents with fragrant earth and cinnamon stick hints. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and plush with lovely expressiveness and a bit of spice on the finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2031
