The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts has a refined bouquet with plenty of what we call “Pinoté” – quite Lamarche-like in style. There is a touch of reduction though that will ebb away with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and black fruit, a keen line of acidity and better precision and nervosité than the Les Suchots. There is drive and focus to this premier cru, as well as excellent length. This is well worth investigating.
