Tasting Notes
Antonio Galloni 97+
The 2006 Rose Cuvee Alexandra (magnum) captures all the natural richness of this solar vintage. If anything, the 2006 is still very young and in need of more time! It’s a powerful, decidedly explosive Champagne packed with fruit and structure to match. Sweet wild cherry, crushed flowers, rose petal and exotic spice tones soar through to the intense, palate-staining finish. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2024.
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2046
The Wine Spectator 96
Hints of smoke, saffron and fennel seed underscore the macerated strawberry, toasted almond, peach skin, singed orange peel and crystallized honey flavourson display in this rich, distinctive rose, which is firmed by chiselled acidity and the crisp yet luxurious feel of taffeta on the palate, a well-defined frame that allows the profile to slowly expand through the succulent finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2040
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2040
James Suckling 98
A wine of piercing definition, with aromas of violets, wild strawberries, white flowers, chalk, tea leaves and subtle spices. Full-bodied, zesty, firm and very silky on the palate, with a fine mousse. Juicy, long, spicy and focused. Saline finish of amazing length. Disgorged in 2024. Tasted from magnum. Drink or hold.
