2023 Dominus, Napa Valley

Eagerly anticipated over the last two years, the 2023 Dominus has earned two 100-point scores from Lisa Perrotti-Brown and Jane Anson – a monumental achievement after no 2022 vintage was released due to not meeting owner Christian Moueix’s exacting standards. Notably, this marks the highest score Anson has ever awarded to any vintage from the estate, praising it as a “beautifully crafted wine that is so enticing you could drink it now, but that promises to reward long ageing”. Dominus is guided by Moueix, former director of Chateau Petrus, alongside winemaker Tod Mostero, who honed his craft at both Chateau Haut-Brion and Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.

Remarkably, Christian has set pricing for the 2023 at £990 IB per 6 – around 28% lower than the 2021. Dominus is one of Napa Valley‘s defining wines, snapped up by collectors worldwide who know they are getting a bargain for a top tier Napa wine. It has the intensity of a top class Napa wine, with the restraint of proper Bordeaux.
